Researchers from the Fish and Conservation Ecology working group of BLKI recently held a workshop for BSc and MSc Biology students at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Institute of Biology. The BSc students were taught fish taxonomy, while the MSc students participated in the morphology session of the complex molecular zoology course.
In the fish taxonomy exercise, the undergraduate students were introduced to the fish species found in our country and the morphological characters needed to distinguish between species. The Master's students learned the basics of morphological and morphometric studies and collected samples for phylogenetic analyses, which are also part of the course.
